The MAD Center “Gëzim Qëndro” is a multifunctional space within the Polis University, dedicated to the exhibition of artistic, design and architecture projects.
The mission of the MAD Center “Gëzim Qëndro” is to offer a space for free and proactive expression to the students of Polis University and to all creatives who have an exhibition proposal, that concern contemporary social issues.
MAD’s exhibition program also affords students the opportunity to study the work of renowned artists and designers up close, hear them speak at lectures, or even meet them in person—all right here at the University. Since 2011, in the spaces of MAD Center “Gëzim Qëndro” has exhibited the work of some of the most significant figures in Albanian art and design, including Edi Hila, Thoma Thomai Dhamo, Gëzim Qëndro, Danish Jukniu, etc. Reflecting the breadth of University’s curricula.
The MAD Center “Gëzim Qëndro” has a decision-making board composed of:
The Rector of the Polis University
The administrator of the Polis University
The Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design
The Head of Department of the Faculty of Art and Design
Every 3 years these figures elect the Coordinator of the Activities of the MAD Center “Gëzim Qëndro”, who is in charge of building the program of exhibition activities.
The MAD Center “Gëzim Qëndro” has an activity plan that is divided into two branches, both of which must meet the quality and technical indications that will be listed below.
The first branch is that of the activities proposed by the coordinator in charge.
The second branch is that of the activities proposed by others.
Each activity is evaluated and selected by the Coordinator of the exhibition activities of the MAD Center “Gëzim Qëndro”, who, once a first selection has been made, submits the final program to the board for final approval.
