Locality, counter-hegemonic narratives and contemporary art: cijaru
Locality, counter-hegemonic narratives and contemporary art: cijaru
As part of the MAD Center “Gëzim Qëndro” annual program of activities, we are pleased to present the first event of this season of the Art Forum series.
For the occasion we invited, with the support and collaboration of the Italian culture Institute the Italian curators Davide De Notarpietro and Francesco Scasciamacchia, founders of the cijaru association, based in Otranto (Lecce, Puglia).
Cijaru questions the cultural hegemony of “south-north” to propose an imaginative map that in an interdisciplinary way revitalizes a horizontal and non-Eurocentric vision for Puglia.
During the talk, the curators will present several case studies that tackle their approach to art, analyzing how changes the structure and the management of an exhibition according to the different practices and approaches of the invited artists.
